Marathon
A real Texas cattle town that grew up on the Comanche trail and the railroad that was taming the West. It still looks very much like a Texas cattle town should look.
For its size, Marathon probably has better restaurants and art galleries than anyone oould reasonably expect. There is an old time drug store with a real soda fountain. The bookstore is a necessity in a town this quiet, but astute visitors find lots of things to do.
As the traditional gateway to the Big Bend National Park, Marathon shares its vistas and wildlife.
